Gastronomy at Shreyas
Essentially, you are what you eat, and that’s why our nutritional philosophy is integral to our vision, which is manifesting excellence—'Shreyas'—in our lives. In the Ayurvedic tradition, 'Annam', our food, is a facet of divinity. The Upanishads (the ancient Hindu treatise on spiritual well-being) emphasise the importance of good nutrition—the subtler essence of our food makes up the mind, while the grosser portion creates our flesh and bones.
It is vital to harness the latent energies of our body, mind, and spirit and proactively engage in refining them. This process has a profound spiritual impact on our thoughts, actions, and emotions and has a purifying effect, both internally and externally, allowing the divine being to shine through. Our nutrition and our divinity are intertwined.
Take a Peek
Mindfulness is an inherent part of our food philosophy. Every ingredient and step of how the food is cultivated, prepared, cooked, and served is a vital part of our recipe to nourish your soul. Right from planting the seeds, nurturing the land, and harvesting without harming the plant or the soil, every step is vital to the quality of food that we eat.
Before we begin to prepare our food, we say a small prayer, reminding ourselves that the food we create is a manifestation of divinity. Then we pick the freshest ingredients and cook them on a slow flame and serve each morsel with love and care.
While our nutritional ethos is derived from ancient Indian philosophy, our chefs seek global inspiration. During your stay with us, you will enjoy an array of culinary styles and techniques, including Indian, continental, Mexican, and Oriental gourmet cuisine. All our food is vegetarian, and much of it is homegrown in our very own pure, organic gardens. Our gardens are tended by our in-house team members with much love and tremendous care for their growth and the environment.
